Express Yourself, Don't Repress Yourself

Human Nature - Madonna

Now, when the "Keep Calm and Carry On" moto/sign was resurected in popular culture a few years ago, I loved it, it symbolised all that was good and British. Even when I was first aware of the first few alterned messages, I still quite liked them; "Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake", can't argue with that. But now it's kind of got a bit beyond a joke; "Keep Calm and Rock On", "Keep Calm and Love Dogs", "Keep Calm and Drink a Beer", "Keep Calm, You're Not That Old". The wonderfiul, simple joy of the original has been totally hijacked and bastardised by companies and advertisers, resulting in completly sucking all of the goodness out of the original concept. Basically, I don't like it.

That being said, I am willing to break by boycott on these products for one card I found on Etsy this afternoon. I like the jucstaposition to the original and how appropriate it is to my current situation. If onlt I could think of someone to send it to....
